Toyotsu Insurance Management Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as TIM) received the "Risk Management Initiative of the Year - Japan" award at the "Insurance Asia Awards 2026" hosted by Charlton Media Group.
This award recognizes TIM's efforts in the renewable energy sector, where it has integrated risk visualization, support for designing insurance and reinsurance programs, and collaboration with domestic and international stakeholders to provide practical support for businesses' risk management. This work has been highly praised within the insurance industry in the Asia Pacific region.

Background of the award
In recent years, the risks surrounding business activities have become more complex, driven by factors such as natural disasters, geopolitical risks, supply chain disruptions, and the transition to decarbonization. In this environment, it is crucial not only to arrange insurance, but also to understand the risks, analyze their impact, and consider appropriate countermeasures from a business continuity perspective.
In particular, renewable energy projects face risks such as natural disasters, construction delays, equipment damage, and project interruptions at each stage of development, construction, and operation. Properly understanding these risks and accurately communicating them to the insurance and reinsurance markets is directly linked to the stable operation of the project.
Key initiatives that were evaluated
1. Visualizing risks
TIM leverages its expertise in both renewable energy projects and insurance to analyze risks for each project. By quantitatively organizing maximum expected losses and other factors, and visualizing this information for use in business continuity and investment decisions, TIM supports risk-based decision-making by businesses.
2. Support in designing insurance and reinsurance programs
TIM assists in designing insurance programs that take into account the scope of coverage, deductibles, insurance conditions, and reinsurance market acceptance, tailored to the specific characteristics and risk situation of each business. We support businesses in managing risk through coordination with insurance and reinsurance companies and through explanations to the market, ensuring that the programs are not merely insurance but effective means of transferring business risk.
3. Collaboration with domestic and international stakeholders
We are improving the accuracy of risk information transmission through direct dialogue with overseas reinsurance companies.
By promoting collaboration among businesses, insurance companies, reinsurance companies, and experts, we aim to align understandings among stakeholders and arrange insurance coverage that is tailored to the specific business risks.
Main Achievements
As of March 2025, TIM provides insurance arrangements and risk management support for renewable energy facilities with a total capacity exceeding 6.4 GW, including both under construction and operational facilities.
