Here at TOYOTSU Insurance Management Corporation (henceforth, TIM ), we place a high priority on the importance of protecting personal information, and strictly observe laws and regulations pertaining to the protection of personal information, such as the Personal Information Protection Law, as well as fulfill the obligations laid down in guidelines of the main relevant ministries. In addition, we also take appropriate measures to properly manage and safeguard the information.

1. Acquiring Personal Information
TIM will legally and fairly acquire only the personal information that is required to carry out our business.
2. Purpose of Using Personal Information
TIM will make use of the personal information it acquires from our clients for the guidance, provision and maintenance management of products and services managed by our insurance agents and risk management consultants, as and when necessary.
In the even that the above-mentioned purpose has to be changed, clients will be notified of the changes in writing, which will also be publicly disclosed on our homepage, etc.

3. Providing Personal Information to a Third Party
TIM will not provide any personal data it manages to a third party without the consent of the relevant individual, except under the following circumstances.

  • As required by law.
  • When required for the protection of human lives, physical safety and assets, and when it is difficult to obtain the consent of the relevant individual.
  • When required for the improvement of public sanitation and the promotion of healthy development of children, and when it is difficult to obtain the consent of the relevant individual.
  • When required in providing support to government institutions, municipal organizations or individuals entrusted to execute a task in accordance with the law, and when obtaining consent from the individual poses a hindrance to the execution of the relevant task.
4. Managing Personal Information
To prevent leakage, destruction and loss, and damage of the personal data it manages, as well as to safeguard other personal data, TIM will put in place adequate security measures such as maintaining the handling regulations and operational structures of security issues. In addition, TIM will also work hard to ensure the accuracy and relevance needed to achieve the purpose of using the personal information.

5. Handling Sensitive Information
TIM will not acquire, use or provide personal information on political stance, religious belief (i.e., religion, ideology, and faith ), trade union membership, race and ethnicity, lineage and family register, health and medical care, sexual habits as well as criminal record (called sensitive information ) to third parties, except when required by laws, and relevant regulations.

In the event when it is necessary to acquire, use or provide sensitive information to a third party in order to ensure that we conduct our business operations appropriately, we will first obtain consent from the individual and use only the necessary information to execute the relevant task appropriately.

6. Enquiries
Please contact us below for requests on the disclosure/revision/termination of usage, etc. of the personal information in TIM based on the Personal Information Protection Law, and complaints and consultations on the handling of personal information.
Relevant procedures will only be carried out after confirmation of the identity of the claimant.
